About Us

Hi, I am Al. I am an adventurous cook who likes to play with flavors. During college days my place was always a test kitchen and a spice lab. Over the years, it became a melting pot for flavors, cuisines, and cultures where people from all over the globe gathered after a night out. Along with my two buddies Marion and Dharsh, we were happy to turn my apartment into our post party grub hub.

The three of us have mastered the art of CUI (Cooking Under the Influence) and people loved the bold, uninhibited, and spicy flavors we were dishing out. Our Sri Lankan hospitality along with the passion for cooking and entertaining continued even after our careers took us to different parts of the world.

Then in 2018, while on a business trip and reminiscing about our past we came up with the idea of creating our own spice mix that our family and friends would enjoy. While throwing out different ideas and names and sipping on some cocktails; what started as a fun word play ended up with Marion and Dharsh crafting the name Spice Orgy.

During my spare time, I began to experiment with different flavors. Once I formulated the perfect combination of spices, I started to make small batches of my final composition. I tried it with all kinds of popular, fusion and traditional dishes and it just kept on getting fantastic reviews from my biggest critics: my family and friends. Any dish and any style of cooking just paired so well. We got bold and shared our blend with professionals in the cooking industry. They too found it to be a versatile seasoning and wanted the mixture in their kitchen.

I don't know how and when exactly it began, but by now I had also started responding to the accolade Chef Albie without any qualms.
